Allow 14-Year-Old Tara Lipinski's Figure Skating Victory to Make You Feel Like an Underachiever

On this day in 1997, 14-year-old Tara Lipinski became the youngest-ever winner of the World Figure Skating Championships. What were you best at when you were 14? I was very good at keeping up with rumors from the set of the Lord of the Rings movies and forgetting to do my math homework.

She would go on to become the youngest Olympic gold medalist figure skating had ever seen. Truly impressive achievements that can be acknowledged even by those of us who remember watching the 1998 games as tweens and remain, almost twenty years later, firmly TEAM MICHELLE KWAN.
